There is always a price different with Myanmar local and foreigner Myanmar price if you don't know their custom and you are a stranger (tourist). But Myanmar train is 10 times more expensive on ordinary class's local rate because it is run by Myanmar government at they consider you as a Myanmar government exchange foreign Myanmar exchange rate (one dollar is equivalence to 6 kyats). But the experience and situation you got is far better as Myanmar people are very friendly and good hospitality. You will have your own seat on the train while local has to stand or they will give you their seat as a favor of you as foreign visitor in Myanmar. Some of the entrance fee may be different to local to like going into the park or Zoo. The Myanmar temples and pagoda is free for Myanmar local people as they live in Myanmar country but all visitors have to pay fee for that in US dollars. Some Myanmar restaurant and teashop might ask you for higher foreign Myanmar price then Myanmar local too. Myanmar taxi driver always ask higher price then Myanmar local so be sure you deal with taxi driver before get into the Taxi. Some taxi driver is fair and charges you the same as local Myanmar people price.
